The Water:

Picture a brawling Montana river. Snow still lingers on the mountains in the background, as trout rise to a evening caddis hatch. But this is not the Madison or the Yellowstone, this is the Androscoggin  in northern New Hampshire. This river is a great place for a full day fly fishing adventure. An Andro grand slam of: Brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, landlocked salmon, smallmouth bass, and Fall Fish, is not uncommon. We fish the Andro with a variety of flies and techniques: Fishing small caddis, casting large streamers, dead drifting nymphs and fishing an evening spinner fall can all be done in one day.

What to Expect:

Access to the Andro begins forty minutes from North Conway and extends another thirty miles to the north and ten miles east to the Maine border. The Andro provides a big river fishing experience. There are sections of water that can be fished without much wading or work, however we enjoy taking anglers a little further, for well earned rewards. This is a great river to learn, nymph fishing and big water dry fly fishing techniques. If you've never fished a larger river the Andro is a great introduction. Beginner's and experienced anglers, will find floating the andro a memorable adventure.

Float Trips on the Andro:

If you've never floated a big river, you don’t know what you've been missing. How many times have you thought, “If only I could get to that deep pocket in the middle of the river?” Now you can. Trips will be guided out of a three person Stealthcraft Skinny Skiff or Pac 1300 outcast raft. These unique watercrafts allow us to put in and take out of the river at locations where other guides are unable to launch their boats. Striking scenery, wild trout, peaceful isolation and perfect casting positioning are the benefits of this trip.
